If you cast BoC right after MS like you normally would there is a chance one of the graspings didn't use DB earlier or have one recharged already and will interrupt you. Happened to me few times. Why risk if you can cast BoC on kd and it will still kill them.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. My first run 2 days ago netted me 9 ectos. Yesterday, i must have failed 4 times due to bad behemoth spawns taht just woudn't let me get by without setting off traps, and then on the 5th try i finnaly made it through but only made 3 ectos.

The build works really well.
I use 2 SF ele hero's and a WoH monk to kill the grasps I might throw BoC and flame djinn if I am feeling generous. They kill the grasps very fast and don't affect ecto drops further in. Also Dervishes look like a great idea as well, although my Melonni is only lvl 18 . Allows me to put ward of stability for the Spawning Pools, helps counter shock which sucks or Sliver for faster killing if I am not going to Pools.
Any other idea's for the spare skill slot?
A cupcake helps for the run to chaos plains.
All in all a great build..now if only I could find a 3 hero build that would kill grasps AND aataxes fast...2 SF and a monk get owned badly LOL...1k down for that silly test.

Curse necro and 2 resto necros kill aataxes no problem but it's slow. Why would you want to kill them anyway?

That build doesn't work in HM.
In HM you get more gold drops but ecto drops are the same.

Actually I prefer to do just the Chaos Plains cause Mindblade Spectres have the best ecto drop rates.
And farming monsters have nothing to do with quests that lead to the final chest. If you want to do quests get a decent team.

Chaos planes alone nets 2-6 ectos (from my experience). From the whole run you would get more than 10, read the whole topic, people posted their results.

You don't do any of the quests except clearing the chamber and you only do that to open the door to the smites. All the rest is just killing monsters...so there is no option to go for the final chest.
Mindblades do seem the best ecto farm...although the Smites throw up 1-2 every 2-3 runs. Definitely worth doing smites as they are easy and you don't always make it to the mindblades.
I was just curious if killing aataxes was possible with 3 hero's and how hard it was. I figured it would take ages and definitely not worth it for a farm...I just hate running past them, they should die like the rest of the evil demons .

I do the same, i bring 2 mindburn heros + 1 restoratioon necro for the darknesses.
cupcake for run
instead of [flame djinn's haste][glyph of concentration][bed of coal][meteor shower]
I bring
[lava font][phoenix][ebon vanguard assassin][aura of restoration]
3x [lava font] = dead minblades and they won't run.
i throw in phoenix if i wanna see lots of pretty numbers.
[ebon vanguard assassin] to trigger traps if they in a spot where i can't avoid them.
I don't know if theres a bug, but sometimes i will still take damage even under [obsidian flesh] + [stoneflesh aura] anyone else experience this?? so i bring [aura of restoration] for that.

Can I get some clarification on why changing wep sets is necessary?

When you wear a weapon like a sword or axe, the obsidian behemoths won't attack you. When you wear a staff, they will attack you

They attack you either way. I know that from experience. It doesn't matter if you have a sword/shield combo or staf, the behemoths will try to kill you eventually.

If you're going to contradict a fairly well known fact because you "know from experience" you should probably note that you're doing something wrong.
If you're wielding a melee weapon, the only reason they'd attack you is for either casting a spell/skill while within their aggro, attacking them, or hanging right outside their aggro bubble while still within their auto attack range. Unless you do one of those three things, running through twin serpent Moutains should prove no obstacle.

I might point out here that the person he was replying to said that they WON'T attack you. What he said was infact true, it makes no difference what you have equiped, if you are within their aggro range they will attack you, though if you are just running through they usually start setting traps first and won't hit you for a few seconds. Personally I think they may be bugged, if you go run into range of one, you can see the attack animation start immediately. There are plenty of places to stop in the mountains where the attacks will be obstructed anyway though.
I haven't tried running through the behemoths for a while, mainly cause I lag once or twice in the first 5 min in uw and die.

I never said it was a problem, it's just that they will attack you, especially with this build, since you need to recast FDH to get through the mountains fast enough. But there will be times where you will be hit for damage.
